Move Beyond the Ice: Introducing Hockeyology Yoga for Athletes
Your training doesn’t have to stop when you get off the ice. We’re excited to introduce Hockeyology Yoga for Athletes, a program designed to help athletes of all sports enhance their performance, prevent injuries, and improve their recovery.
Why Yoga? The Athlete’s Advantage
This isn’t your average yoga class. We’ve developed a dynamic flow specifically to meet the unique physical demands of training and competition. In these sessions, you’ll focus on:
- Mobility & Flexibility: Open up your hips and shoulders to improve your range of motion.
- Core Strength & Balance: Build a stronger foundation to improve stability on the ice.
- Injury Prevention: Release tension and strengthen your posterior chain to protect your body from the high impact of practices and games.
- Mental Focus: Use breathwork and mindfulness to sharpen your mind and stay focused under pressure.
This program is perfect for off-season conditioning, injury prevention, or just staying limber between games. All levels are welcome—no previous yoga experience is needed.
Meet the Instructor: Jess Healey
Your guide through these sessions is Jess Healey, a former professional hockey player who competed in Sweden’s SDHL, the PHF Buffalo Beauts, and PWHL Boston. As both a yoga instructor and an on-ice skills coach, Jess brings a unique understanding of what it takes to perform at the highest level.
