    Off-Season Training Themes

Member Month-Long Madness 3v3 Tournament & Goal Setting Seminars

March is a chance for athletes to enjoy the game again after a long season while beginning a thoughtful transition into the off-season. On the ice, our Month-Long Madness 3v3 Tournament creates a fast-paced, fun, and competitive environment that encourages creativity, puck touches, and confidence without the pressures of a traditional season. Off the ice, goal-setting sessions bring athletes and parents together to reflect on the season, identify development priorities, and build a clear off-season plan. The focus is on enjoying hockey, creating direction, and preparing athletes for purposeful training in the months ahead.

April focuses on reinforcing the building blocks of elite hockey performance.

Skating mechanics, puck control, passing, and shooting are emphasized on the ice, while off the ice athletes focus on movement quality and core strength through Premier Strength designed training, True Movement classes, and Yoga sessions, setting players up for a successful off-season.

    May – Applied Skill Development

In May, athletes begin applying fundamental skills to more game-realistic situations. Training emphasizes skill execution under pressure, movement patterns, timing, and decision-making. Drills are designed to connect technique with game context, helping players transition from “knowing the skill” to confidently using it during competition.

    June – Athletic Development & Cross-training

June prioritizes overall athleticism to support hockey-specific performance. Athletes focus on speed, agility, balance, coordination, strength, and mobility through structured athletic development and cross-training. This phase enhances injury prevention, movement efficiency, and physical confidence, ensuring players are better prepared to handle higher training loads and on-ice demands.

July is designed for athletes ready to push their game further. Training features advanced puck skills, deceptive movements, pace changes, and tactical awareness. Position-specific sessions allow forwards, defense, and goaltenders to focus on role-based skills, reads, and responsibilities, helping athletes refine their identity and effectiveness within team systems.
