ZerOne Hockeyology Ambassadors
As a ZerOne Hockeyology Ambassador you will be responsible for providing exceptional service at our reception (front of facility) area, serving as the first point of contact to our brand for our customers/clients. In addition to covering reception and the retail desk, you will also be responsible for managing the skate-sharpening service, supporting facility cleanliness and assisting with other client care and service duties as needed.
Job Overview
Ambassadors to ZerOne have a comprehensive understanding of both Hockeyology and Athleticare’s products and services. They require exceptional interpersonal and communications skills with a strong focus on customer service. Hockeyology Ambassadors are required to work within the front desk, retail and other service departments and must be flexible to tackle additional support tasks as they may arise including sharpening skates, driving the Zamboni (selected staff) and light cleaning tasks. On the retail side they are responsible for stocking and merchandising, cleaning and maintenance of the retail and front desk environment, and inventory management. This role required an in-depth understanding of Mind Body Registration, operational structure and service offerings within all of ZerOne.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as Ambassadors to ZerOne with a comprehensive understanding of both Hockeyology and Athleticare’ products and services.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- Work effectively within retail, front desk, and other service departments, displaying flexibility to tackle additional support tasks.
- Stock and merchandise retail products, ensuring attractive presentation and organization.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the retail and front desk environment.
- Sharpen skates (selected staff)
- Possess knowledge of Mind Body Registration system and operational structure of Hockeyology.
- Familiarize themselves with the offerings and services available at Athleticare.
- Act as greeters at the front of Hockeyology, directing traffic and serving as gatekeepers of the entrance.
- Complete opening and closing checklists as required.
On the Job offerings:
- Selected staff will be trained to operate and run the Zamboni, clean, and maintain the ice.

Hockeyology Lead Instructors
Job Overview
Lead Instructors will be required to cover a full complement of disciplines. As a Lead Instructor, you’ll
lead instructional sessions, help design training programs, and provide personalized feedback to players.
With a focus on fostering teamwork and personal growth, you’ll collaborate with other coaches and stay
updated on industry best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of assistant instructors during training sessions within the facility and the Ice Palace
- Conduct on-ice and off-ice training sessions, drills, and scrimmages for players
- Provide instruction and feedback to players to enhance their hockey skills and knowledge of the game, taking athletes from 0 to 1
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Provide data driven results to player development, in a report card model, and other gamification models
- Understand and promote ZerOne service offerings, and act as Brand ambassadors well at the facility but also within their personal networks
- Ensure the safety of players during all activities and enforce camp rules and regulations
- Serve as a mentor and role model for players, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a passion for the sport of hockey
Accountabilities/Reports
- Lead Instructors will report to the Manager of Products and Services for scheduling and Manager of Programs and Facility for day-to-day tasks.
- Lead Instructors will be responsible for managing and delegating duties to their designated team of assistant instructors for each session, this will be established in the session schedule.
Qualifications
- Coach Certification through Hockey Canada or Skate Canada
- A minimum of three years’ experience as a hockey instructor or coach
- Leadership experience on a team either as a player or coach
- 3 letters of reference from coworkers or clients in the hockey industry
Upon successful completion of the interview process, you will be asked to provide a copy of your current Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector and First Aid Certification.

Hockeyology Assistant Instructors
Job Overview
Assistant Instructors are junior coaches and helpers that have an interest in supporting the team ZerOne and growing into lead roles. We expect our Assistant Instructors to be polished, and have a wealth of experience playing hockey. ZerOne’s Assistant Instructor are the embodiment of our character, corporate culture, and unlimited potential which we seek to grow in all our clients and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Enable Lead Instructors in running drills, on and off ice activities, and supporting players
- Aid in the development of fundamental skills such as skating, passing, shooting, and puck
control - Provide feedback and encouragement to players during and throughout sessions
- Assist in setting up and maintaining equipment needed for all training activities
- Supervise players during drills and scrimmages to aid Lead Instructors on all player assessments
and to ensure safety and adherence to rules at all times - Work closely with the Lead Instructors to facilitate team training sessions, develop strategic
game plans, and provide individualized data driven player feedback. - Assist in organizing team events, managing equipment, and ensuring a safe and supportive
environment for players. - Fostering player development both on and off the ice. Collaborating with other staff members,
help coordinate logistics, while also actively engaging with players to promote teamwork,
discipline, and sportsmanship. - Demonstrate commitment to excellence and a passion for the sport, embody the values of
ZerOne and play a key role in shaping the future of our hockey programs - Embody and ambassador ZerOne Brand within the facility and their own networks
Accountabilities/Reports
Assistant Instructors will report to their assigned Lead Instructor while at the facility, and for scheduling
and all other supervisory roles they will report to the Manager of Products and Services.
Qualifications
- Hockey experience as a player
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience as an assistant hockey instructor or coach
- Leadership experience on a team as a player, Hockey or other sports applicable
- 2-3 letters of reference from coaches or employers

Duties and Responsibilities

Accountabilities
Athleticare Medical Office Assistants staff will report and be accountable to the clinic Office Manager for supervision of tasks, direction of day-to-day tasks, and any and all scheduling.
Qualifications
- Certificate for Medical Office Assistant (or equivalent) is an asset
- 2-3 years of experience within a clinical setting as an MOA, experience as a receptionist in the same setting would also be considered.
- Other higher education would be considered an asset
- Experience as Healthcare Aide would be considered, with 2-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Experience using an EMR would be considered an asset
