The Future Skaters program is designed for beginners aged 3 and up who are stepping onto the ice for the first time or have little skating experience. This program focuses on building confidence, balance, and foundational skating skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Through engaging activities, games, and step-by-step instruction, young skaters will learn how to stand, glide, stop, and fall safely—setting them up for a future of fun and success on the ice.

What to Expect:

  • Playful Learning: Fun games and activities to keep skaters engaged while developing balance, coordination, and basic skills.
  • Foundational Skills: Learn how to stand, balance, glide, move forward, stop, and fall safely with confidence.
  • Safe and Supportive Environment: Patient instructors guide skaters at their own pace, ensuring a positive first experience on the ice.
  • Confidence Building: Celebrate small victories as skaters gain independence and take their first strides toward future success.

Program Requirements:

  • A CSA-approved helmet with face covering is mandatory for safety.
  • Skaters should wear warm, comfortable clothing and gloves/mittens.
  • No hockey gear, this restricts the movement of skaters
  • No prior skating experience needed—this program is perfect for beginners!

Future Prospects - Ages 5+

Stronger Skills. Greater Confidence. A Future Full of Possibilities.

The Future Prospects program is designed for skaters who have completed the Future Skaters program or can skate independently without support. This program focuses on further developing balance, control, and technique while introducing new skills to help skaters glide with confidence and precision.
With a focus on strong fundamentals and progression, skaters will build the skills needed for success in figure skating, hockey, or recreational skating, all while enjoying a fun and encouraging environment.

What to Expect:

  • Skill Development: Master essential skills like forward and backward gliding, stopping, turning, and basic edges.
  • Improved Control: Focus on balance, coordination, and body positioning to refine skating technique.
  • Building Strength and Confidence: Skaters will develop greater independence on the ice as they take on new challenges.
  • Fun and Goal-Oriented: Engaging instruction and activities keep skaters motivated while working toward their next level of skating success.

Program Requirements:

  • Skaters must be able to skate independently without support (completion of Future Skaters or equivalent).
  • A CSA-approved helmet with face covering is mandatory for safety.
  • Skaters should wear warm, comfortable clothing and gloves/mittens.
  • Hockey equipment is not recommended as it restricts movement for learning skaters.
