Hosted by ZerOne Hockeyology, Perfect Skating‘s 6 week program focuses on Body Awareness, Edge Control, and Linear Forward Movement Optimization.
The program begins with a focus on improving control over the athlete’s center of mass and base of support, which leads to better ankle control and an understanding of how to manipulate pressure across different parts of the skate and blade. Athletes will also work on mastering an explosive open hip start. Following this, the program shifts its focus to optimizing both inside and outside edge control and glide, ensuring that the athlete’s body is primed to accelerate from these positions. Finally, athletes will work on refining their linear front stride and crossover mechanics, allowing them to attack off the rush with increased speed and deception.
