About this program
Future Prospects is the next step after Future Skaters. Eight weeks for skaters who can stand and move on their own, focused on control, technique, and new skills: forward and backward gliding, stopping, turning, and basic edges.
Every week adds a challenge and builds independence. Skaters leave with the fundamentals they need for hockey, figure skating, or recreational skating, and the confidence to use them.
What’s included
- Eight on-ice sessions
- Forward and backward gliding, stopping, turning, and basic edges
- Balance, coordination, and body-position work
- Coaching from the Hockeyology staff
Is my skater ready?
Future Prospects is for skaters who can skate independently without support, either after completing Future Skaters or with equivalent experience. If your child is still finding their feet on the ice, start with Future Skaters.
What to wear
A CSA-approved helmet with a full face covering is mandatory. Warm, comfortable clothing and gloves or mittens. Hockey equipment is not recommended at this stage because it restricts movement.
