About the tournament
The U11 L.I.T. Indigenous Winter Classic brings together First Nations, Métis and Inuit hockey players from across Canada for four days of competition, culture, community and connection at the West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace.
Players register individually. On Thursday evening every player takes part in a combine and a live draft, and is placed on one of the tournament's eight teams. There are two divisions, Elite and Co-Ed, with four teams in each and one goaltender per team.
L.I.T. stands for Legacy, Identity and Tradition. The tournament gives young Indigenous athletes a high-quality hockey experience at one of Canada's most iconic hockey venues, with new friendships and memories that last well past the final game.

Who can register
The tournament is open to U11 First Nations, Métis and Inuit hockey players from across Canada. Players register individually, not as a team.
How the combine and draft work
On Thursday evening, December 17, every registered player takes part in a player combine. A live draft follows, and each player is placed on one of eight teams across the Elite and Co-Ed divisions.
