What this session covers
Updated protocol
A refreshed presentation of HSL's existing Concussion Policy and Protocol (Zurich 2016), now delivered under Athleticare. The underlying protocol is not changing.
New assessment tools
HSL's sideline assessment tool moves from SCAT5 to SCAT6 for players 13 and up. Child SCAT6 is introduced for players ages 8 to 12.
Return-to-play scenario
Jesse Karpman walks through how to apply the protocol and the assessment tools in a real sideline situation.
Clinical Navigator
An introduction to Athleticare's new remote consult line, available to HSL trainers and medical staff for concussion cases regardless of location.

A remote consult line for concussion cases

An optional consult on concussion cases for HSL trainers and medical staff, wherever the game is. Not a required step in the protocol.

Coverage hours 7am to 7pm
Navigator line 587-416-1652. Urgent or event day: call, do not email.
